Trail Days

MORNING ROUTINE ON MON, TUE, THU (ELLEN’S “TRAIL DAYS”)

Leah will text “10 minutes out” (between 8:50am and 9:15am).

  • At that point, you can open curtains, putter around a little, etc.

  • When there’s ~2 minutes to go, make sure Ellen has her “Fi” collar on (charger under computer desk).

  • She’ll be VERY excited, so we try to do this routine close to Leah’s arrival.

  • When Leah pulls up (red SUV), just throw the front door open and Ellen will run right out. (Except for our backyard and the dog park, this is the ONLY time she should be off-leash.)

  • Within a few hours, Tina will need a 10-15 min, leashed walk up and down Cross Parkway, to stretch her legs and poop. You can do this anytime between 9:30 and noon.

NEED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE FOR A COUPLE HOURS?

  • This ~9am timeframe is a good time to do it.

  • Once Tina has gotten her morning walk, double check that there’s no food on countertops, etc., close all interior doors, close curtains, etc. Turn A/C in living room to 70/cool/auto.

  • Tina can stay out in the living room by herself until ~1pm if needed.

AFTERNOON ROUTINE:

  • Leah will text “10 minutes out,” usually between 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
    (Make sure someone is home!)

  • When she arrives, open the front door and Ellen will run right in.

  • Let her out back to pee.

  • They may want a snack, Kong, etc., but try to wait til 4pm to give them their afternoon meal.
